Some graphic tees are made to fit in. Some are meant to stop people in their tracks, to make them look again, to think about what they’re seeing. The Eat The Rich Funny Political Fight Fascism Protest T-Shirt is definitely in the latter category. A brilliant dark visual joke on a centuries-old political expression, the shirt features a smirking, crowned ruler sitting on a mountain of coins, surrounded by giant dining utensils and beautiful vintage artwork.
At the top, in big, old-fashioned letters, is the slogan “EAT THE RICH”. Below them, a rich-looking king sits contentedly atop a mound of money, seemingly oblivious to the gigantic knife and fork next to him that might be part of the joke.
Sarcastic, over the top and dripping with social criticism that doesn’t need a whole paragraph plastered over the chest.
